These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of the nolapse mobile application ("the App") and the website getnolapse.app. By downloading, installing or using the App you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
The App is provided by singlethreadapps, the trade name of Carlos Santos, an independent developer established in Portugal, European Union ("the Developer", "we").
nolapse is a behavioural self-regulation tool based on JITAI (Just-In-Time Adaptive Intervention). At the moment of an impulse to gamble, the user passes through a 12-second press-and-hold filter. Based on configured risk windows, declared context and recent history, a probabilistic engine returns one of four outcomes for that window: blocked, delayed, conditioned or unrestricted.
nolapse is not a gambling service. It does not connect to any betting operator or casino, does not process wagers, display odds or simulate games of chance, and contains no gambling content.
The App does not guarantee any behavioural outcome and does not impose abstinence. It is a self-management tool for adults who choose to use it. The decision to gamble or not remains with the user.
The core features — the filter, risk windows, cooldown and basic impact tracking — are available free of charge, without an account.
Pro features require a monthly subscription purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The price, including applicable taxes, is shown in the store before you confirm the purchase and may vary by country. Payment is charged to your store account.
The subscription renews automatically at the end of each monthly period at the then-current price, unless you cancel it. On the App Store, auto-renewal must be turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. On Google Play, cancel before the next renewal date. Price changes follow the rules and notice periods of each store.
You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel the subscription. After cancellation, Pro remains active until the end of the period already paid. Data stored on your device is not deleted when a subscription ends.
Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and refund requests are handled by them under their policies. Your statutory rights as a consumer under EU law, including any applicable right of withdrawal, are not affected.
An active subscription can be restored on another compatible device signed in to the same store account, using the restore option in the App.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not:
All rights in the App and the Website — including code, design, brand, algorithms, text and graphics — belong to the Developer. These Terms grant no ownership rights.
If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA) also applies. If you obtained it from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply. These Terms supplement those terms. Apple and Google are not responsible for the App or its support.
The App is provided as available. We work to keep it functional and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will produce any particular result. Its effect depends on how it is used.
The App is a harm-reduction tool. It is not a substitute for professional psychological, clinical or financial advice. If you feel your gambling is out of control, consider contacting a specialised support service in your country.
To the extent permitted by law, the Developer is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for decisions you make, including financial consequences of gambling during or after use of the App.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for intent or gross negligence, nor your statutory rights as a consumer, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services.
The App is intended exclusively for users aged 18 or over. By using it, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on the Website and, where possible, through an App update or the store listing, at least 15 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date means acceptance of the new Terms; if you do not agree, you may stop using the App and cancel your subscription.
We may change or discontinue features or the App. If the App is discontinued, we will give reasonable notice where possible.
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it; an active subscription must be cancelled separately in your store account. We may stop providing the App to you if you materially breach these Terms.
These Terms are governed by Portuguese law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence and may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at support@getnolapse.app. Consumers resident in Portugal may also refer disputes to an alternative dispute resolution entity, such as the CNIACC (cniacc.pt) — Centro Nacional de Informação e Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo. More information is available at consumidor.gov.pt. Consumers in other EU countries may contact the alternative dispute resolution bodies or the European Consumer Centre of their country.
